Special Edition: Bethany Gets Married
June 30, 2009 § 2 Comments
It’s June. Besides utterly miserable heat, at least in my neck of the woods, this means one thing: wedding season. June brides abound, especially in the south, and this June, Bethany, co-creator of Pair Diem, marched down the aisle towards marital bliss. Besides having the initial idea for Pair Diem, she has been my faithful daily shoe photog, snapping pics of all my pairs for well over 3 months. I found it only fitting to do a special edition centered around her big day, and some of the shoes that were present.
Many of our coworkers attended and since all are familiar with the blog, none were too surprised when I grabbed a camera and started snapping pics of people’s feet (the other guests were another story). Weddings require a cute dress and equally cute shoes, we all know. Some ladies went for fierce, some for cute, but all came decked out for Bethany and Stephen’s nuptials and the beautiful reception held at a yacht club, overlooking a lake. So fitting for a preppy girl like Bethany who loves her Sperrys and wellies.
The first pairs belong to Korena and Shani, both choosing metallic strappies to complete their outfits. I particularly love the pink footbed on Korena’s (left) and the dainty ankle strap on Shani’s silver sandals.
Susie and Laura were both relaxing on the patio in their party shoes when I snapped their pumps. I’m fond of Susie’s dark polish with her gunmetal metallic sandals and Laura’s demure patent round toe pumps. What I also liked were the games they played during reception, as in, every time you get up from the table, you must get a beverage. Greatness.
Lisa’s resort casual brown croco sandals looked especially fetching with her bright red polish. She also carried a delicious yellow leather bag which I should have featured, too! And I just couldn’t resist the precious little girl in her pink converse that her mom had purchased especially for this outfit. Made me wish I could rock pink kicks and chubby legs and look that cute.
The only male/female couple to make the wedding special edition are Larissa and Myron. Larissa was fierce in neutral back-zip braided heels and Myron, always the clotheshorse, won points for his striped socks which he proudly displayed.
My choice for the event were these peep toe sling backs with ochre leather uppers and a canary yellow satin bow across the front, from J.Crew. Girly and dance-worthy, as all special event shoes should be.
Last but not least, the bride. She was radiant in her gorgeous strapless dress and silver strappy flat sandals (didn’t want to challenge the groom in height, of course). She insisted on taking my shoe photo, even during her own reception, (such dedication) so we swapped shoe pics along with hugs. Congrats to the new bride and her hubby!
And in keeping with the Pair Diem way, please cast your votes on my special occasion heels. Are they darling or dull?
