Wrapped in straps of snakeskin
Second day in a row of wearing flats. I can’t help it, I absolutely live in them all summer as I do in boots all winter. The snakeskin trend carrying into the warmer seasons is very pleasing since it is one of my most favorite colors/textures in accessories. More subtle than metallics, more interesting than a solid color, snakeskin is necessary in a wardrobe. Hence, this pair by Steve Madden as a choice for my closet. Besides the snakeskin texture, I like the ankle strap and the overall shape. Are they a safe bet or are they sadly poisonous?

Date of Purchase: Spring 2009
Circumstances: I’m on a roll with the third of four pairss from the same shopping trip to Nordstrom Rack with Kelly. I bought summer flats so it’s only natural that I waited until the temperatures rose to display them in the challenge. This pair was a shoe-in (oh I’m terrible, right?) when discerning which pairs to keep. The neutrality of the color and texture make them so versatile, there was no way to refuse. My shopping luck was amazing that day, as I also went home with a DVF wrap dress for a ridiculously good price.
Compliment Meter: 3. Several solid compliments on this pair, on the overall shape and the snakeskin. Shoe confidence level: High.
Comfort: Quite comfortable, especially withe ankle strap. Could be worn for countless hours. Overall, a 9 out of 10.
Worn with: Pale pink/nude and tank printed short sleeved blouse from J. Crew, white straight leg jeans from Target (they fit shockingly well). It’s just not summer without white pants.
